About
Karina is a graduate student at UCLA, pursuing a Master of Science in Bioengineering, and plans to continue her education through an MD/PhD program. She earned her bachelor's from UCLA in 2024, double majoring in Bioengineering and Mathematics, and hopes to use her engineering background to better medicine and the care we are capable of providing. She works under Dr. Hsu on projects concerning the use of micropatterning to study the morphology of EndMT and the synthesis of an Artery-on-a-Chip system to study the physiological effects of exercise on the arterial wall. In her free time, she can often be found at the Engineering Makerspace in Boelter Hall working on some new pet project.
